Nathan in Haiti

Nathan Colquhoun is one of two hip-cats who are pastors at The Story in Sarnia, Ontario. The other is a former pro wrestler with cauliflower ears named Stamford “the Steam Roller” Brogan. Mostly their ministry consists of keeping Joe Manafo from setting things - and occasionally people - on fire. Joe would say, yes, on fire with the Holy Spirit! Joe’s like that. He puts exclamation marks on things.

Nathan is now in Haiti. Serious business. It’s one thing to see the images on television, quite another to be there (he said, from the comfort of his warm chair). There’s a sense of unreality to what’s on tv and it’s easy to put the emotional barriers up. The news has already moved on to other, bigger, better things - like football games and expensive, trendy cars being recalled, and so on. All the while there’s a group of authentic Christ followers doing some very difficult work in Haiti.
